My books are new, gently used, or moderately used unless stated otherwise. We are a non-smoking household with dogs, but most of the books are secondhand (i.e. of undetermined origin). Also, if my description conflicts with the preloaded item specs, please ignore the item specs.   

For used paperbacks, I don't list ordinary wear such as a bit of writing (like a name or short inscription), bookstore or library stamps, spine creases, rubbed edges, etc.  I will point out tears or excess wear and also when a book has less than average wear, which is more common in my inventory.  I also point out when a paperback is a first printing because I have noticed that these are often made better, last longer, and have extra features. 

Books listed as new can be expected to have no spine creases, writing, stamps, etc. though there may be price stickers or sticker residue.
